M.A.C.

Spotted in Soho this morning: M.A.C. cosmetics having a little gig at Bloomingdales for their new Magic, Mirth and Mischief line. It definitely attracted a big crowd, not to mention all the people stopping to take pictures...which created a pedestrian traffic jam.
Oh Soho Joys!!!
I'm digging the blond wig in the back. Could this be my Halloween costume? Just need two nice escort boys, any volunteers?

Feeling special

so special...

Here's the picture: another rainy morning, you had a little bit too much fun the night before at your friend Julien's Gigot Party, your hair is getting way too curly because of the humidity level, there's a pile of clothes on your bedroom chair, Yvonne is on her way, you need to clean the apartment, go to the Post office send a stupid joke to some friends, find a costume for Friday night's Aerobics party (don't ask, I don't even know where to start), write a post about something clever because you foolishly did your own promotion the night before, write a Lettre de Chateau a.k.a Thank You Note to last night's host (he clearly and heavily insisted on it), go to work, find some brilliant ideas for a campaign and most of all smile.

This morning, I need to be cheered up.

So here's a sample of things that would help me feel better, recession spirit as always... Start the day in style by drinking my 7:30 am coffee in a 2 carat diamond cup for $15 only at the Moma Store. Chocolate Pretzels for $10 from Jacques Torres along with a 4:00pm hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in it from the same place. A priceless love letter from my perfect man. A 45 minutes pool session with both my friends Juliette and Mermaid Audrey, but mostly... what I really am hoping for is this rain to stop.

Please send me your "Feeling special" treats and tips.

Making my dream come true

He's smart, he's funny, he's kind, he's cute... the perfect catch? Almost.
Over the past 3 years, discretely but surely I have mapped out a plan to make my dream come true: my perfect man is getting the perfect look.
We're going on a vacation: OUT the knee length swimsuit, IN the flashy Sundek one with the cool stripe in the back. He's starting a new job: OUT the messenger bag he's been carrying around since age 17, IN the Jack Spade briefcase. We're going to visit our families in Paris: OUT the square toe shoes, IN the Lucknow summer ones. We're moving in together: OUT the paper clip/key ring, IN the Tiffany's... And these are just a few examples among the other finds at the J.Crew Liquor store in Tribeca, the Sunglass hut... It's that easy! Turn the makeover into gifts: he won't even realize what you're doing... until he reads your blog. But look at him now, he looks like Robert Redford driving his convertible on the West coast! And the good news is: he's still smart, still funny, still kind and even more cute.

Apartment makeover

I've been dreaming of this!

You obviously can't get everything you dream of in one apartment. So for those of you who enjoy "loft looking" places, here's the perfect answer to depressing white walls: THE FAUX BRICK WALL... It seems to be made from a thick molded, compressed paper. It looks much more realistic than those "faux" brick wallpapers you can find everywhere. It's not cheap but it costs as much as a good wallpaper and apparently is much easier to install yourself. Oh... by the way... you can find this at Rose Brand. No need to thank me, I'm here to help.
